Cool Looks for Lazy Players

Practical AND stylish!

Transmogrification has been nothing but great for World of Warcraft. At first I was just an onlooker, happily admiring the creative and glamorous outfits other players created. That soon changed though, and I was swept up in the transmogrification tidal wave. You know what I discovered? Grinding old dungeons is boring as hell. I decided that old dungeon sets were totally unoriginal anyhow, and I instead raided the Auction House for the most horrendous greens I could find. Naturally, those industrious AH Goblins had already caught wind of how pretty and rare some BoE's were (Chan's Imperial Robes, I'm looking at you!) and sure enough, the prices skyrocketed. Lame.

Thankfully, there are many items in-game that transform your appearance with a simple click of a button. No need to mindlessly grind the same dungeon over and over...and over (Well, unless you want to look like a Blood Elf, but that's a post for another day.). There's no sifting through Wowhead trying to compose a set, and no crying that the boss did not drop your shoulders for the 57th time. The following items have a 100% chance to drop, and a 100% chance for fun!

Consumables
Probably the easiest way by far to alter your appearance, consumables are generally cheap and plentiful. Head to the Auction House and grab yourself the following items, and enjoy not being you any more!

  • Savory Deviate Delight - Turn yourself into a human Pirate or Ninja
  • Noggenfogger Elixir - Show everyone what your made of... Skeleton
  • Pygmy Oil - Shrinks you down until you eventually turn into a Pygmy Gnome
  • Lifegiving Seed - If you're a herbalist you can use this to turn into a random herb.
  • Potion of Illusion - Turns you into a copy of the closest player. Unlimited opportunity for shenanigans with this bad boy! (Read up more about it here.)

Who says money can't buy happiness?

On-use Items
Some of these involve a tad more effort to acquire, but thankfully they never run out and are not at the whim of RNG or competition from other players. Get ready to rack up some frequent flyer points and be prepared to rock out some new looks!

  • Iron Boot Flask - Grab yourself 10 Relic of Ulduar from the AH and head out to the Storm Peaks. If you're Horde, you're looking for Olut Alegut, and if you're Alliance, you're after Rork Sharpchin. These fine gentlemen are NPC vendors who are always there, and their stock is unlimited.
  • Kalytha's Haunted Locket - For a cool 4,500 gold and a flight to Azshara, you too can look like a Night Elf ghost lady. As with the Iron Boot Flask vendors, Tex Vortacoil is always stocked up and ready to take your hard-earned gold.
  • Blessing of the Old God, Bones of Transformation, Wisp Amulet - WARNING! Archeology items. Pop yourself on a bird and go AFK, checking back occasionally to do a bit of digging. Get drunk and pretend like you don't hate yourself for grinding out this tedious and un-fun profession.

The more die-hard collectors among you will have noticed that there are still a lot of items missing from my list. I know they are, and it's deliberate. The items that I have included are there because they require minimal thought and effort. I was deliberating on whether or not to include archaeology items because of the sheer amount of time required to grind it out, but I decided that I would because unlike daily quests or dungeon grinds, you can still be productive whilst being essentially AFK.

Next week we'll dive into the cruel world of rare spawns, rare drops and time munching quest rewards. Trust me, once you have a taste of the high life of fashion and glamour, you'll be left wanting more!

    1. Yes! Is it wrong that when you said that I already knew what robe would work perfectly for such an ensemble?
